Zelma Caldwell

Zelma R. Caldwell, 83, of Claysville, Pa. died at 4:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2005 in the Kade Nursing Home, Washington, Pa. She was born June 14, 1922 in West Finley, Washington County, Pa. a daughter of James Lloyd and Nora Elizabeth Kimmins Hughes and had resided in Dallas and Washington prior to moving to the Claysville area in 1953. Mrs. Caldwell was a 1939 graduate of Triadelphia High School (W.Va.) and has been a member of the Claysville United Methodist Church for over 50 years.She was employed as a sales clerk at Curtis Pharmacy in Claysville for 18 years prior to retiring in 1974 and assisted as a cashier for her husband's auctioneering business. Mrs. Caldwell enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a former member of the Buffalo Grange #1532.On May 16, 1939 she married Edison Wiley Caldwell who survives.Also surviving are two sons, Roger Caldwell and Jerry W. husband of Cathy Lilly Caldwell, both of Valley Grove, W.Va.; one grandson, Judd Caldwell; two granddaughters, Shelly Caldwell Wigal and Rend'ee Caldwell; one great granddaughter, Karae Wigal; one brother, Charles W. Hughes of Daytona Beach, Fl.Deceased in addition to her parents is a brother, Marvin L. Hughes.
