Wilda V. Ross, 100, of Eustis, Fl., and formerly of Salem, Ohio and Greene County, Pa. died at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Westervelts Place, Umatilla, Fl.
She was born June 9, 1915 in Marshall County, W.Va. a daughter of the late Ray Elmon and Zanna Evedna Rutan McCracken.
Mrs. Ross had resided in Salem, Ohio from 1952 until moving to Florida in 1979, where she had resided in Tavares and Eustis, Fl. She and her late husband enjoyed returning to Greene County during the summer months, for several years, as long as their health permitted.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tavares, Fl.
Mrs. Ross enjoyed playing pokeno, sewing, sewing pads for cancer patients, and camping as long as her health permitted.
On June 8, 1940 she married Rodney Franklin Ross who died August 9, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Raymond (Cookie), husband of Xintia (Cynthia) Ross of Eustis, Fl.; four grandchildren, Raymond Ross, II, Robert Ross, Kim Baxter McMahon and Justin McMahon; eight great grandchildren, Joshua, Jamie, Brandon, Robyn and Margaret Ross, Amanda Davis, McKennzie and Joseph Baxter; two step-grandchildren, Melba and Kelvyn Mora; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a daughter, Bonnie McMahon who died in 2012; three brothers, Raymond R., Joseph E. and Bartley McCracken.
She is the last of her immediate family.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. and until time of services at 1 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2015 in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. with Rev. Walt Stevenson officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Twp. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to your local American Cancer Society.
