Vernon J. “Buzz” Stevens, age 63, of Washington, PA, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019 at Washington Hospital.
Born December 27, 1955 in Canonsburg, PA, he is the son of the late Vernon and Martha (D’Ambrosio) Stevens.
Vernon was a Washington County resident all his life. He graduated from Chartiers Houston High School in 1974. Vernon was a past member of the Independent Political Club, and the Polish Club, both of Washington, PA. He worked at a graphite company with his father for many years. Vernon was employed at the Washington Bottling Company. He was a driver for the Tri-State Auto Auction for twelve years until he retired in 2009. Vernon enjoyed bowling, anything outdoors, being around animals, especially hounds. He loved to visit Tygart Lake, WV. Spending time with his friends at Jefferson Auto, Washington, PA.
Vernon is survived by his companion, caregiver, and best friend of 22 years, Debbie Hixenbaugh, of Washington, PA; four children, Karen (Mike) Randall, of PA, Kristina (Brandon) Insana, of Eighty-Four, PA, Kimberly (Matthew) Hott, of Liberty Township, OH, and Kevin (Tamra) Stevens, of Washington, PA; six grandchildren.
At Vernon’s request there will be no public visitation, but a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181.
