Verna Imogene "Jeanne" Jackson

Verna Imogene "Jeanne" Jackson, 89, of Cameron, WV and formerly of Wind Ridge and Crabapple, Pa. died on Saturday, May 10, 2025 in the Respi Center Personal Care Home, Waynesburg, Pa.

She was born in Aliquippa, Pa. a daughter of the late Howard Gilchrist and Dorothy Cooke Gilchrist-Gray and had been a resident of Wind Ridge and Crabapple areas most of her life prior to moving to Cameron in 1993.

Mrs. Jackson was an active member of the Fairview United Methodist Church for over 66 years, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Methodist Women of the church and made the church part of her everyday life.

She was a 1955 graduate of the former Richhill Twp. High School.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Graysville Senior Citizens, was involved with the Foster Grandparent Program at Cameron Elementary School, loved high school sports, an avid Steeler and Pirate fan, enjoyed the company of others and was an avid bowler for several years as long as her health permitted.

She was employed as a school bus driver by the West Greene School District for 10 years.

Mrs. Jackson was employed by the Liquid Transport Corporation as an independent long-haul trucker (with her late husband, Ralph) for 18 years prior to retiring.

On June 5, 1954 she married Ralph Edward Jackson who died April 30, 2008.

Surviving are 3 sons, Gary (Johnna) Jackson of Harrisonburg, Va., Brian (Crystal) Jackson of Jackson Twp. (Greene County, Pa.) and Kevin (Mary) Jackson of Green Bay, WI; 10 grandchildren, Morgan, Alexander, Grace, Beau, Bray, Benjamin, BreAnn, Brian A., and Kamden Jackson and Taylor Monroe; a brother, Patrick “Ricky" Gilchrist of Pulaski, Va.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is a sister, Dorothy "Nimmy" Furdak.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday in the Kesterson- Rush Funeral Home, LLC. In Rogersville, Pa. Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 15, 2025 in the Fairview United Methodist Church, Richhill Twp., with Rev. Nelson Boone officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
