Velma B. (Bamberger) Jacobs

Velma B. (Bamberger) Jacobs, age 85, of Graysville, passed away, Monday, May 8, 2023.

Born October 31, 1937, in Nineveh, she is the daughter of the late Reed and Goldie (Clutter) Bamberger.

Velma graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1955. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and was active in the Women’s Group. Velma was also a member of the Eastern Star of Waynesburg. She worked at First Federal, Waynesburg as a Supervisor in the accounting department for over 35 years until her retirement. On September 23, 1955, she married Cecil “Gene” Jacobs and they were happily married for 65 years until his passing in July 2020. Velma enjoyed spending time with her family on their farm.

She is survived by three children, James (Tracey) Jacobs, of Canonsburg, David (Carla) Jacobs, of Graysville, and Carol (Randy) Rearick, of Akron, OH; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Miller, Cameron Jacobs, Danielle Jacobs, McKayla Jacobs, and Megan Jacobs, Tyler and Ashley Rogers; three great-grandchildren, Alley Miller, Liam and Jackson Jacobs; one brother John “Bill” Bamberger.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Reed “Ike” Bamberger and a grandson, Heath Jacobs.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 4-9 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Nelson Boone and Tina Parson, co-officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Ten Mile Cemetery, Prosperity.
