Tyler L. Barnhart

Tyler L. Barnhart, age 27, of Erie, formerly of New Freeport, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in his home.

Born July 3, 1999, in Washington, son of Christine (Douglas Stoneking) Hixenbaugh Barnhart, of New Freeport and Brian (Debra) Barnhart, of Gibsonia.

Tyler had been a resident of Greene County most of his life. He graduated from West Greene High School in 2017, then went on to attend Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC) for a year. Tyler attended Church of Christ in Sandhill. He was employed as a Maintainer Operator for Better Baked Foods for the past six years. Tyler was a very good father and always quick to lend a hand. He was very funny and quick-witted. Tyler enjoyed camping, music festivals, playing dungeons and dragons, War Hammer, and watching Star Wars.

In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his son, Oakley Steven Barnhart and his longtime partner, Chayenne Thompson, both of Erie, two brothers, Zachary (Alexis) Barnhart, of Whitehall and Levi Barnhart, of New Freeport; two stepbrothers, Colden and Logan Siedt, both of Gibsonia; both grandmothers, Carol Hixenbaugh, of Waynesburg and Bonnie Barnhart, of Hundred, WV.

Tyler was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Steven Hixenbaugh and Roy Barnhart.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 2-4 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359 Telephone: 724-499-5181, where a funeral service will be held directly after.
