Thomas "Tom" Leo Wise

Thomas “Tom” Leo Wise, age 60, of New Freeport, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, May 22, 2020.

Born March 8, 1960 in Waynesburg, son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Zimmerman) Wise.

Tom graduated from West Greene High School in 1978, where he was an accomplished Wrestler. After graduation he started working for Blacksville Mine #2 and remained there for 35 years until he retired in 2015. Tom married his first love and high school sweet heart, Donna Popio, on October 23, 1992. He enjoyed spending time on the farm, riding in his buggy, and visiting with the neighbors. He loved his three grandchildren, they were the light of his life, even in his final moments they were the forefront of his thoughts, nothing could make him smile faster.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Michael (Rachel) Hoffman, of McMurray and Christopher Wise, of Ephrata; three grandchildren, Connor Hoffman, Caitlyn Hoffman and Sophia Wise.
