Thomas Rush

Thomas G. Rush, 67, of Mt. Morris, Pa, formerly of Oak Forest. died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. in his home after suffering from emphysema for the past 9 years. He was born November 30, 1937 in Carmichaels, Pa. a son of Mabel M. Miller Rush of Waynesburg and the late Thomas Isaac Rush.Mr. Rush had resided in Oak Forest area for over 30 years prior to moving to Mt. Morris in 1991. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Rush was a former employee of C.G. Laginfelter Strip Mine, Lang Brothers Construction, R.G. Construction, Traft Construction, Metz Construction. He was last employed as a heavy equipment operator for Tarbuck Construction for several years prior to retiring in 1994. He was a former member of the Waynesburg Moose Lodge and was an avid hunter and fisherman.On December 20, 1957, he married Carol Sue Cole Rush who died on April 7, 1990., and in June of 1991, he married Hazel E. Sollars Rush who survives. Also surviving are in addition to his mother and wife are twin sons, Danny, husband of Theresa Cassiday Rush of Pine Bank, Pa. and David, husband of Kelly McCollum Rush, of Holbrook, Pa.; one daughter, Cindy S. Rush of Clarksburg, W.Va.; one step son, Donald, husband of Pamela Lewis Laskody of Mt. Morris, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Christopher and Kevin Spitznogle, Cody I., Kolton T., Jordan C., Jenna S. and Thomas D. Rush, Jr.; three step grandchildren, Jonathan Garber, Daniel R. and Trasha Gail Laskody, three brothers, Kenneth M. Rush of Waynesburg, Gary L. Rush of Carmichaels, Larry L. Rush of Bedford, Oh.; one sister, Barbara Ferencak of Bedford, Oh.; one half sister, Marge Warman of Waynesburg, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
