Thomas H. Boyd, Jr.

Thomas H. Boyd, Jr., age 85, of Waynesburg, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026, in his home with his family by his side.

Born October 5, 1941, in Waynesburg, son of the late Thomas H. Boyd, Sr. and Pearl Elvira (Lopes) Boyd.

Thomas had been a resident of Greene County all his life. He graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1960, then went on to get his bachelor’s degree in fine arts in 1970 from the University of Wisconsin Superior. Thomas was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Waynesburg and served as the Treasurer for the Knights of Columbus. He married Roberta Ann Ladd on January 26, 1968, in Iron Mountain, Michigan and they were happily married just short of 59 years. Thomas was employed for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Regional Manager doing fire audits for the attorney general for 20 years, retiring in 2003. He was also formerly employed for the former Curry Home as their Administrator, Regional Manager for Northern Health Care, helping build six nursing homes, and the Administrator for the former Franklin Health Care. Thomas served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also served in the PA National Guard as well as the U.S. Coast Guard. Thomas was a member and the past commander for the Waynesburg American Legion Post 330. He was also a lifetime member of the Waynesburg VFW 1473.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas C. (Nora) Boyd, of Palm Beach, Florida and Trent Boyd, of Sterling, Virginia; two grandchildren, Anna and Elise Boyd.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas H. Boyd, III.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9-11 AM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359 Telephone: 724-499-5181. During the visitation the Knights of Columbus will hold a rosary ceremony at 10:00 AM. Catholic Mass directly after at St. Ann’s Catholic Church 232 East High Street Waynesburg, PA 15370. Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies 1158 Morgan Rd. Bridgeville, PA 15017, with full military honors conducted by the United States Navy and the Greene County Honor Guard.
