Stephen H. Hildreth

Stephen H. Hildreth, 56, of Wind Ridge, Pa. died Monday, July 27, 2015 in his home after a courageous 5 year battle with a cancer related illness.
He was born June 12, 1959 in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of the late James Harold and Mary Carolyn Jennings Hildreth and had resided in Morris Twp., Greene County, prior to moving to Richhill Twp. in 1983.
Mr. Hildreth was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Richhill Twp. where he was a member of the church choir, a cast member of the portrayal of the Last Supper, served in the Thanksgiving Dinner Ministry and served as a Lay Speaker.
He was a 1977 graduate of West Greene High School.
Mr. Hildreth enjoyed hunting, gardening and sports as long as his health permitted, and treasured his time with his family whom he adored.
He was employed by West Penn Wire Belden Corporation in Washington for 37 years holding the position of floor supervisor at time of his death.
On May 11, 1985 he married Lorie Anne Wise who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Michael S. Hildreth and his fianc Kayla Cooke, of Canonsburg; a daughter, Kayla D. Hildreth, wife of Paul Gombwer of Charleston, SC.; four brothers, Joseph Hildreth and John, husband of Louise Hildreth both of Sycamore, Richard, husband of Debbie Hildreth and William, husband of Sharon Hildreth, both of Nineveh; three sisters, Karen, wife of Michael Frnka of Sharpsburg, Ga.,Susan, wife of Michael Franz and Rebecca, wife of Ron Smykal, both of Pittsburgh; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents are his maternal grandparents, Charles and Ruby Carter Jennings; his paternal grandparents, James Judson and Lurena Goins Hildreth.
Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Fairview United Methodist Church (Richhill Twp.) where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 with Pastor Nelson Boone officiating. Interment will follow in the Lazear Cemetery, Richhill Twp. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Gateway Hospice, 9380 McKnight Rd., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15237. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa.
