Shirley J. Richmond

Shirley J. Richmond, 89, of Claysville, Pa. died on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 in her home, after a brief cancer related illness.

She was born December 19, 1934 in Claysville, a daughter of the late Robert Kenneth and Alberta Glendean Shaler Moore, and had resided in the Claysville area all her life.

Mrs. Richmond was an active member of the Claysville United Methodist Church and was a 1952 graduate of the former Claysville High School.

She enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family and friends, gardening, raising flowers and golfing.

On June 18, 1952 she married James Donald (JD) Richmond who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Robert J. (BJ) (Patty) Richmond of Wilmington, N.C., Michael J. (Mike) Richmond of Claysville and William J. (Jay) (Michele) Richmond of Washington; a grandson, Nicholas (Lesley) Richmond; two great grandchildren, Taylor and Averi Richmond; a brother, Robert C. (Lois) Moore of Taylorstown, Pa.

Deceased in addition to her parents is a grandson, Jason Brent Richmond who died in infancy.

Friends and family will be received from 12-8:00 pm Friday in the Claysville United Methodist Church, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 with Lay Speaker Anthony Dalbo officiating. Interment will follow in the Claysville Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Claysville United Methodist Church.
