Shirley Ann (Parson) Jones, age 86, of Waynesburg, formerly of Canonsburg and Rogersville, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, in Washington Hospital following a short illness.

Born December 9, 1939, daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn (Smith) Parson.

Shirley graduated from Richhill High School in 1957, where she was a Majorette. Following graduation, she attended beauty school in Uniontown, where she became a licensed Beautician. Shirley was formerly a member of the Rogersville United Methodist Church. She married Terry Kent Jones on June 7, 1959. They were happily married for 34 years until his passing on July 24, 1993. Shirley owned and operated her own beauty salon until she retired in 2001. Along with her husband, she also owned Jones Furniture Store and Jones Amoco for several years. Shirley and her husband raised many foster children over the years. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and especially visiting the casino. She also enjoyed shopping, going out to eat and watching the Steelers. Shirley absolutely loved her sweets, especially Sarris chocolate, ice cream, and Krispy Kreme donuts. She also loved spending time with her family and friends and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley would have secret talks with her grandchildren and sneak them chocolate or money when their parents weren’t watching. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know her knew how funny and ornery she could be and was entertained by her witty comments. She loved making people laugh and always spoke her mind.

She is survived by three children, Terry Jay (Debra) Jones, of Rogersville, Jennifer Jones, of Green River, WY, and David (Jennifer) Jones, of Waynesburg; ten grandchildren, Amanda Jones, Chelsey (Garett) Johnston, Curtis (Kendra) Jones, Katheryn (Jeremiah) Davis, Marina (Jennie) Kordus, Madisyn Montoya, Michael (Rachel) Montoya, Macey Montoya, Paige Jones and P.J.
