Sarah Ruth (Fletcher) Chess

Sarah Ruth (Fletcher) Chess, age 87, of Graysville, passed away, Friday, June 6, 2025, at UPMC Greene, Waynesburg.

Born September 7, 1937, in Cameron, WV., daughter of the late Harry and Freda (Kinsey) Fletcher.

Sarah had been a resident of Greene County most of her life. She was a member of the Wind Ridge Christian Church. Sarah married Thomas Allen Chess, Jr., on September 28, 1956, and they were happily married for 61 years until his passing on April 17, 2018. She enjoyed farming when she was younger and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two children, Thomas A. (Kathy) Chess, III., of Richhill Twp. and Ruth Ann (George) Yanek, of Middletown; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 2-8 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Adam Stokes, officiating. Burial will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery, Jacktown.
