Rodney “Hot Rod” E. Durbin, age 57, of Waynesburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 1, 2026, in his home.
Born August 17, 1968, in Waynesburg son of the late Charles I. and Beatrice A. (Toland) Durbin.
Hot Rod had been a Greene County resident most of his life. He married Denise Wade on June 16, 2000, and they were happily married for 19 years until her passing on June 3, 2020. Hot Rod was a laborer for Stallion for the past four years. He enjoyed riding four-wheelers, playing cards, fishing, spending time with family, shooting pool, liked watching NASCAR racing and the San Francisco 49’ers on TV, drinking coffee, and playing horseshoes.
He is survived by three step children, Ashley Wade, Nichole and Brian Cargill; seven step grandchildren, Aubriella and Hickson Durbin, Claire Wood, Lane and Camden Cargill, and Christopher and Arianna Wade; five siblings, Barbara (Gary) Bird, Rita (Daniel) Phillips, Roger (Chris) Durbin, Robert L. Durbin, and Pamela Yeager; half siblings, Charles (Cindy) Durbin and Shelvie (Nathaniel) Menzer; step sister, Becky Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Chuck and Kevin Durbin; brother-in-law, Tony Yeager; half-brother, Ervin Durbin.
