Robert Smith

Robert Smith, 67, of Waynesburg, Pa. died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, August 17, 2003 in the UPMC Hospital (Montifore), Pittsburgh, Pa. after being in failing health for the past several months.He was born February 10, 1936 in Marianna, Pa. a son of Joseph and Ruth Marion Runyan Smith and had resided in the Waynesburg area most of his life.Mr. Smith was Protestant.He was a former employee of Bell Telephone in Washington, Pa., Winnett Sawmill at Amity, Pa. and Rich's Mobile Homes in Carmichaels and was last employed for approximately 25 years as a boiler operator with the Warehouser Company in Jefferson, Pa. prior to retiring in 1991.He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years and enjoyed watching Professional Wrestling.On April 20, 1958 he married Rose Marie Crayne Smith who survives.Also surviving are two sons, Michael F. Smith of New Freeport, Pa. and Robert G. Smith of Carmichaels, Pa.; three brothers, Joseph Smith of Canton, Ohio, Edward Smith of Mayville, N.C. and James (Birdie) Smith of Waynesburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Josh Chapman, Amy Louise and Ashley Nicole Smith.Deceased in addition to his parents are three brothers who died in infancy.
