Robert K. Moore, 101, of Buffalo Twp. Washington Co., Pa. died Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the Breese Personal Care Home, Claysville.He was born March 16, 1912 in East Finley Twp. (Pleasant Grove), Washington Co. Pa. a son of the late William Robert and Anna Margaret Crowe Moore and had resided in Buffalo Twp. since 1924.Mr. Moore had attended the Rolling Hills Chapel Church when his health permitted and was a 1930 graduate of the former Claysville High School.He was employed as an equipment operator for Buffalo Twp. for several years prior to retiring in 1989.Mr. Moore was a member of the NRA, a charter member of the Frazier-Simplex Rifle club, where he served on several championship teams. He was the national and state small bore rife champion in 1958, and he and his late wife were both inducted into the Washington Co. Chapter of the Pa. Sports Hall of Fame for marksmanship, she in 1988, and he in 1989.He was also a former member of the Claysville V.F.D. and a member of the Claysville Sportman's Club, enjoyed hunting and fishing as long as his health permitted and he was a former CB radio enthusiast known as "grouse hunter".On November 24, 1932 he married Alberta Glendean (Bertie) Shaler who died May 11, 1995.Surviving are a daughter, Shirley, wife of J.D. Richmond of Claysville; a son Robert, husband of Lois Moore of Washington; seven grandchildren, B.J., Michael and Jay Richmond, Richard, Debra, Jeffrey and Lisa Moore; twelve great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Leroy Shaler of Claysville.Deceased in addition to his parents and wife is a great grandson, Jason Brent Richmond.Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Claysville U.M. Church where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 with Rev. Dr. Paul Spence and Rev. Rico Vespa co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Claysville Cemetery.
