Robert "Bobby" A. Burns

Robert “Bobby” A. Burns, 81, of Aliquippa, formerly of Richhill Twp. and Waynesburg, PA, passed away on March 18, 2017 at 11:45pm at Heritage Valley Beaver after being in failing health for several months.

Born on February 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Harry and Evelyn (Sanders) Burns.

Bobby was in the last graduating class from Richhill Twp. High School. He enjoyed traveling with his family, attending any event for his daughters and granddaughters, watching Pittsburghs’ sports teams, and listening to country music. He was a retired employee of J+L Steel in the By-products department in Aliquippa, also working for Perry Security as a guard and US Air as a transit operator and baggage handler. He was especially fond of his canine companion, Jingles.

Bobby is survived by four daughters, Christle Parker (Brian) of Midland; Carola Walker of Aliquippa; Cheryl Umstead (Kenny) of Aliquippa; and Cathy Lewis (Sam) of Hummelstown, PA; six grand-daughters,  Briannon Morris (Chris) of Yorktown, VA; Darcy Parker (Joe Reed) of Beaver Falls; Taylor Parker of Midland; Janelle Jonnet (Mike) of Aliquippa; Courtney Simelton (Charles) of Indiana, PA; Madison Lewis (Victoria) of Hummelstown, PA;  eight great-grandchildren,  Harlee, Gabby, Seth Morris; Arieyanna, Makenzie Jonnet; Sydney, Brady, Landon Simelton; two sisters, Virginia Six and Sara Sprowls both of Washington, PA; sister-in-law, Kathern Burns of Washington, PA and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Arlis (Pester) Burns, who passed away in 2003; one sister, Opal Rush; two brothers, J. Walter and Lloyd Burns.

Friends will be received on Wednesday March 22, 2017 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm in the Darroch Memorial Chapel, 2640 Mill Street Aliquippa, PA 15001, www.darrochfuneralhome.com.

Friends will also be received on Thursday March 23, 2017 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm in the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC, 3275 W Roy Furman Hwy, Rogersville, PA 15359 where a funeral service will be held on Friday March 24, 2017 at 11am. Internment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Twp.
