Raymond L. Goodwin

Raymond L. Goodwin, age 83, of Center Township, PA, passed away on Friday, September, 15, 2017 at his family farm.

Born at home on December 13, 1933, he was the son of the late Guy L. and Anna (Clutter) Goodwin.

Raymond graduated in 1953 from the Center Township High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army. In his early years, he hauled milk for the former Carnation Milk Plant, Cameron, WV. Raymond worked on his farm in Center Township. Raymond enjoyed farming, his cattle, fixing and repairing equipment, and tinkering. Raymond was a life long member of the South Ten Mile Baptist Church. He loved watching his grandchildren at sporting events and had many friends at Creekside Kitchen, Rush’s Grocery and the Graysville Store. The family is thankful for Raymond’s caregiver Grace Whitlatch Amos, and Amedisys Hospice.

Surviving are his five children, Brenda Marie (Mark) Wearne, of Des Moines, IA; Judith Ann (Terry) Tanner, of Rutan, PA, Lisa Rae (David) Durbin, of Beulah, PA, Sandra Lea (Ben) Brudnock, of Rutan, PA, David Mitchell (Michelle) Goodwin, of Rutan, PA; his grandchildren, Mitchell Wearne, Anna and Patrick Durbin, Nathan, Elizabeth and Katherine Brudnock, Emily, Brianna and Ali Goodwin; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Wearne) Porter and Becky (Wearne) Boylan; three step-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Patterson, of Southern Pines, NC; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Ruth Ann Mitchell in 2008; sister, Dorothy Foshey Harvey; brother, Ralph Goodwin.

Friends will be received on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. and again on Monday, September, September 18, 2017 from 2-8 P.M. at the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359. (724) 499-5181 A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Phil Campbell, officiating. Burial will follow with full military honors at Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township.
