Raymond "Donut" Lee Hughes

Raymond "Donut" Lee Hughes, age 58, a lifelong resident of Jackson Twp., passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 12, 1957, in Waynesburg, PA, he is the son of Betty Arlene (McMasters) Hughes Worthington and the late Carl Ralph Hughes. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Robert Worthington.

For the past 18 years, he was employed by Nicholson Construction as an operator for heavy equipment drilling and a member of the Local 66 Operating Engineers. He also worked 14 years for U.M.W.A. doing construction as an operator. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post # 330, Moose Lodge # 461 and the Eagles Lodge # 598, Waynesburg. Donut was a Western fan at heart. He enjoyed going hunting with friends, farming and being outdoors.

Loving Husband of 15 years to Donna R. Chambers Hughes; Step Dad of Jason Chambers of Wind Ridge, PA and Nicole Mason, of Graysville, PA; Step Grand Pap to Derek, Tessa, Ryan and Brooklyn; Brother of Linda Kay (Ron) Dolgae, of Cortland , Ohio, Ronald (Taryn) Hughes, of New Freeport, PA, and Carl Richard (Karen) Hughes, of Cortland, Ohio; Uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Friends and Family are welcome on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 2-8 P.M. with a Blessing Service at 7:30 P.M. with Father Al McGinnis, officiating at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359. (724) 499-5181. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo Twp. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 or to Amedisys Hospice, 2183 Mcclellandtown Rd, Masontown, PA 15461. The family would like to thank his doctors and staff at Amedisys Hospice for the care they provided.
