Randy Grimes

Randy Grimes, age 60, of Waynesburg, PA, passed away after battling a lengthy illness Saturday, April 7, 2018.

Born January 26, 1958 in Waynesburg, PA, he was the son of the late William D. Grimes and Carolyn M. (Wood) Grimes, of Waynesburg, PA.

Randy was a lifetime resident of Waynesburg. He graduated in 1976 from Waynesburg Central High School. Randy was a lifelong member of Throckmorton United Methodist Church in East View, PA. Randy worked for West Penn Wire for seven years. He enjoyed riding his Harley when he could. Randy liked playing the drums and guitar. He enjoyed the company of his two dogs, Shadow and Louie. Randy loved to bake chocolate chip cookies. His favorite past time was watching the deer and the Steelers and Pirate games on tv. He was a good husband and friend, always had a smile on his face, and had an ear for anyone that needed him.

He is survived by his wife Tonja Bennett Grimes of 29 years, married August 20, 1988, a sister, Pastor Cynthia (Butch) Deter, of Rogersville, PA; four brothers, Rodney (Susan) Grimes, of Jefferson, PA, Dave (Sandra) Grimes, of Spraggs, PA, Mark (Rhonda) Grimes, of Hopwood, PA, and Pastor Dan (Kathy) Grimes, of Venus, PA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Orville and Carrie Grimes; maternal grandparents, Ray and Lucy Wood; one nephew, Adam Ray Grimes.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Grimes and Pastor Cynthia Deter co-officiating.
