Pastor Paul Eldad Thomas

Pastor Paul Eldad Thomas, age 86, of Claysville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in his home with his loving family by his side.

Born February 20, 1939, in Claysville, son of the late Isaac Erastus and Anna Mae (Dodd) Thomas.

Paul had been a Washington County resident all his life. He graduated from Claysville High School in 1956. Paul married Eleanor “Ruth” Campbell on May 5, 1962, and they were happily married for 63 years. He was employed with Coen Oil as a truck driver for 10 years until he retired in 1999. Paul was the Pastor of East Finley Church of God for 42 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Pam (Hal) Shiflett, of Moyock, NC, Paula Thomas, of Claysville, Gregg Thomas, of Charlotte, NC, Phillip (Heather) Thomas, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Doug Thomas, of Claysville; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Owen Thomas, Martha “Midge” Applegate, Floyd Thomas, Isaac Thomas, and Gerald J. Thomas.

Paul was the last of his immediate family.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 5-8 PM at Rolling Hills Chapel, 214 Timber Lake Rd., Claysville, PA 15323. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10 – 11 AM in the church, where the funeral service will be held directly after with Pastor Dennis Boyce, officiating. Burial will follow at Claysville Cemetery, Claysville, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W.
