Norma Jean Stout Adams, 76, of West Alexander, Pa. died at 6:24 p.m. Sunday, March 17. 2013 in the Trinity West Hospital, Steubenville, Ohio after being in failing health for the past several years.She was born May 16, 1936 in West Alexander a daughter of the late Kenneth Leland and Loretta Alice Maloy Stout.Mrs. Adams had resided in Ft. Myers and Sebring, Fl. areas from 1992 until returning to West Alexander in 2009.She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Sebring, Fl. but had been attending the West Alexander Presbyterian Church since returning to the area.Mrs. Adams was a 1954 graduate of the former West Alexander High School and later graduated from the former Elliott Business College in Wheeling.She was also a member of the West Alexander American Legion Post 656 Auxiliary.Mrs. Adams was a former swimming instructor in the Erie, Pa. and Sebring areas and also enjoyed playing the card game of 500 with her many friends, and always found a reason to laugh.On December 26, 1968 she married Donald Franklin Adams who died January 26, 2005.Surviving are a daughter, Denise Lombardi of Follansbee, W.Va. and a son, Jeffrey, husband of Robin Hankins Adams of Glen Dale, W.Va.; a sister, Nancy Gashel and a brother, Ronald (Gus), husband of Donna Stout both of West Alexander; several nieces and nephews.The Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the West Alexander American Legion Post 656 Auxiliary, c/o Ruth Frye, 987 Old Brick Rd, West Alexander, PA 15376.
