Millicent "Millie" Eakin

Millicent “Millie” Eakin, age 80, of Waynesburg, PA, formerly of Hundred, WV, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.

Born May 1, 1936 in Springhill Twp., PA, she is the daughter of the late Samuel and Lillian (Cooper) Masters.

Millie graduated in 1955 from Waynesburg High School. In 1965, she moved to Hundred, WV where she created her home with her husband, James A. Eakin until moving to Waynesburg, PA in August of 2016. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hundred, WV. Millie and her friend Billie Cross cleaned the bank in Hundred for several years. She loved to go shopping, play Bingo and cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Above all, her family was always the most important to her. The family appreciates the love and care given by Jenn and Sue Ellen and​ Amedisys Hospice.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James A. Eakin, of Waynesburg, PA; daughter, Jenny (John F.) Coss, of Waynesburg, PA; grandchildren, Sarah Coss (Matt) Hillery, of Waynesburg, PA, Emily (Alan) Yanak, of Jefferson, PA, and Kayla (Kevin Brumley) Coss; great-grandchildren, Aiden Hillery, Cooper Yanak, Briella Yanak and Connor Hillery; sisters, Genie King, Phyllis Scott Dozois and Anna Mae Wade; sister-in-law, Barbara (John) Meyers; also many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister​, Elizabeth Moninger.

Friends will be received on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Kesterson- Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359. (724) 499-5181. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Elizabeth Parsons, Janet Scott Mace and Brad Edgar, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
