Mildred "Millie" Romaine Tharp

Mildred “Millie” Romaine Tharp, age 63, of Waynesburg, passed away, Friday, July 17, 2026, in her home with her family by her side.

Born October 28, 1962, in Washington, daughter of June Margaret (Mangold) Miller, of Washington, and the late Mervwin Dale Miller, Sr.

Millie was formerly of the Amity area since 1999 after moving from Marianna. In 2013 she moved to Waynesburg and lived out the rest of her life. She is a protestant by faith. Millie married Bruce Tharp, Sr. on July 8, 1994, and they were happily married for 32 years. She was an aid for Standish Nursing Home for 10 years until she retired in 2022 after a car accident and was no longer able to work. Millie was formerly employed with Rest Haven P.C.H. in Houston and the Presbyterian Senior Center as a housekeeper. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and antique cars. Millie loved her pets.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Elijah Jacob Miller, of Washington; two stepchildren, Bruce A. Tharp, Jr., of Washington and Kristen Tharp, of Sarasota, FL.; one step grandson, Willie Jacobs; and three siblings, Mervwin,Jr., Donna, and Edna.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two children, Holly Marie Byers and Andrew Glen Byers, both in infancy.
