Mary R. Post, 79, of Claysville, Pa. died at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in Hixenbaughs Personal Care Home, Claysville, Pa. after suffering with Parkinson disease health issues for the past several years.
She was born January 7, 1936 a daughter of the late Glenn William and Helen Ruth McAdoo Barnhart and had resided in Buffalo Twp. most of her life.
Mr. Post was a member of the Claysville United Presbyterian Church, and was a 1953 graduate of the former Claysville High School.
She was a charter member of the Covered Bridge Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, and a member of the former Claysville Evening Star Chapter 187, Order of the Eastern Star, where she formerly served as the flag bearer.
Mrs. Post was a ladies fashion model with the former Fashion Bug Department Store in Washington for several years and enjoyed shopping as a past-time.
She enjoyed her time with family and grandchildren, she and her husband enjoyed traveling, crossing the USA five times.
On January 1, 1956 she married Samuel Earl Post, Jr. who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Randall, husband of Ronnie Post of Algona, WA. and David, husband of Launa Post of West Alexander; four grandchildren, Trisha, Steven, Donovan and Chelsea Post.; two brothers, Carl Eugene, husband of Mary Barnhart and Robert Glenn Barnhart, companion of Darlene Barnes, both of Claysville;
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Claysville United Presbyterian Church, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 with Rev. Meade Lacock officiating. Interment will follow in Claysville Cemetery. A memorial service will be conducted by the Martha V. Paul Chapter #404. O.E.S. of Washington, Pa. at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the church. The family would like to request anyone owning an antique automobile, going to the cemetery in the funeral procession, to please drive the vehicle. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Western Pa., 3468 Babcock Blvd., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15237.
