Mary A. Nanny McDonald, 76, of Mather, Pa. died at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015 in Lafayette Manor, Inc., Uniontown, Pa. after being in failing health for the past several years.
She was born November 16, 1938 in Mather, Pa. a daughter of the late William Earl and Etta Jane Shawley Stauffer and had been a resident of Mather all her life.
Mrs. McDonald followed the Nazarene faith and was a graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.
She enjoyed crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, pen-pals, tri-chem painting, cooking and baking, fishing and hunting as long as her health permitted.
Mr. McDonald was a former housekeeper to the Pratt family and was a housekeeper at the former Waynesburg Medical Arts Building.
She was married to the late James Scott McDonald, Sr. who died May 23, 1979.
Surviving are two daughters, Rennetta, wife of James Shaw of Greensboro and Judy McDonald, companion of Chris Ewart of Mather; a son, James Scott McDonald, Jr. of Mather; a sister, Rennetta Rae Stankiewicz of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren, Billy Joe Webber, Missy Ruse, Rennetta (Liz) Anderson, Angela Geelen and J.C. McDonald; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and her husband are a great grandchild, Betty Webber; three brothers, James and William Harry Stauffer and Albert J. (Red) Stiles; a sister, Alberta Ann Woodruff.
At the request of the family there will be no public visitation or funeral service. All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family request memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Foundation of American, 322 8th Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa.
