Marie M. Amistadi

Marie M. Amistadi, age 99, of Holbrook, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at WeCare at Rolling Meadows in Waynesburg.

Born June 9, 1927, in Bluff, daughter of the late Frank T. Sr. and Maude I. (Taylor) Lewis.

Marie had been a Greene County resident most of her life. She graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1945. She married Orval Baysinger on April 14, 1945, and they were married for 29 years until his passing on April 9, 1976. Marie remarried on April 15, 1978, to Leo Amistadi and they were married for six years until his passing on February 1, 1984. She was a former member of the Waynesburg Auxiliary VFW 4793 and the Waynesburg American Legion Auxiliary Post 330. Marie enjoyed quilting, gardening, and working puzzles.

She is survived by two children, Melanie (Richard Jones) Zinkhan, of New Brighten and Kathy M. (Michael) Clark, of Waynesburg; daughter-in-law, Shelvajean Baysinger, of Holbrook; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; three nieces; and one nephew.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Richard Baysinger, who passed in 2010; great granddaughter, April Baysinger; great grandson, Robert Lee Baysinger; brother, Frank Lewis, Jr.; and son-in-law, Robert Zinkhan.

Marie was the last of her immediate family.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4-8 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181, where the Waynesburg VFW Post 4793 will hold a service at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Frank Lewis III., officiating. A private burial will be held at Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township.
