Margaret “Peg” Louise (Stewart) Jackson, 90, of Waynesburg, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 8, 1932 in Nineveh a daughter to the late Caleb Kenneth and Margaret Irene (Harvey) Stewart.
Peg married her late husband, James Allen Jackson, on May 7, 1995. They were married for 27 years before his passing on August 8, 2022.
Peg was a 1951 graduate of Waynesburg High School. She was a member of the Nineveh United Methodist Church. Peg worked for West Greene School District for 15 years and Golden Living Center for 22 years before retiring in 2013. She enjoyed working on the farm, raising dairy cattle and sheep, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Peg loved people and cooking.
Surviving Peg are children Deborah (Charles) Hildreth, of Nineveh; Barbara Venesky, of Gold Canyon, AZ; John (Debbie) Bristor, of Waynesburg; stepchildren Jeffrey Jackson, of Mather; Gregory (Susan) Jackson, of Waynesburg; Jamie (James) Taylor, of Waynesburg; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; Sister-In-Law Che Stewart, of Bridgeport, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Peg is preceded in death by step-daughter Shelly Six; great-grandson Leo Wolfe; Son-In-Law James Venesky; and brothers Carter W. Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, and David Stewart.
Friends and family will be welcomed Friday, October 7, 2022 from 11-3 PM in the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359; Telephone 724-499-5181. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Lawrence officiating. Burial will take place at Rosemont Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Nineveh United Methodist Church payable to Shirley McClelland, PO Box 32, Nineveh, PA 15353.
