Margaret Louise (McClellan) Stockdale Post, age 95, of Waynesburg, took the good Lord’s hands on June 22, 2025, at Premier Washington Health Center.
Margaret was born April 4, 1930, daughter of the late Ernest Dawson and Margaret Leona (Bowie) McClellan in Fayette County.
She had been a resident of Waynesburg since the age of 19 when she moved from Graysville. She graduated from Richhill Township High School in 1949. Margaret married her first husband, Russell Neil Mathias Stockdale, on September 30, 1951, and they were happily married until his passing on November 29, 1962, then on June 30, 1967, she married her second husband, Robert Whitfield Post. They were married 13 years until his passing on September 29, 1980. Margaret was formerly employed at Star Restaurant, then The Chicken House, before retiring from the Iron Griddle in Waynesburg in 1989. She loved putting together puzzles, remodeling her home, reading her bible, and spending time with her beloved family.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Stephen Love, of Waynesburg; daughter-in-law, Debbie Stockdale of Jefferson; one brother, Jacob (Sheila) McClellan of Morgantown, WV and two sisters-in-law; Beverly McClellan of Ocala, FL, and Sarah McClellan of Graysville; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her three children, Teddy Stockdale, Richard “Rick” Stockdale, and Renee Love; five brothers, James (Margaret), Ephriam (Catherine), Clare (Marian), Clyde Ray, and Ralph McClellan; a sister Ester (Milton) Stump and a granddaughter Kelly Stockdale.
Friends and family will be welcomed on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 11 to 1 PM at Kesterson Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, Pa 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181, where a funeral service will be held directly after with Pastor David Woods, officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
Her family would like to graciously thank the staff of Premier Health Center for the exceptional care they provided and for treating Margaret as a member of their family every single day.
