Biography
Madge E. Ealy, 93, of East Finley Twp., Washington County, Pa. died at 1:40 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2014 in her home after a brief illness. She was born March 16, 1921 in East Finley Twp. Washington County, a daughter of the late George Huffman and Edna Ruth Montgomery Rush and had resided in East Finley Twp. all her life. Mrs. Ealy was a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church at East Finley where she was a member of the Ladie's Aid and was involved in making the last quilt by the group and was also a member of the Union Valley Sewing Circle. She was the oldest member of the East Finley Twp. election board at her death where she served for many years, and was a member and former treasurer of the East Finley Twp. Park board of directors, a member of the East Finley One Room School Committee. Mrs. Ealy enjoyed making quilts and afghans for her family, baking pies and raising flowers. She was last employed by the McGuffey School District as a cafeteria worker at the former West Alexander Elementary School for 10 years. On June 10, 1937 she married George Ruben Ealy who died August 20, 1986. Surviving are three daughters, M. Jeannette Lemley, companion of Art Snyder and J. Louise MacKinney, both of Washington, and L. Nancy, wife of Ray Milbert of Martins Ferry, Ohio; a son, W. Nelson, husband of Jewell Ealy of East Finley Twp.; two sisters, Martha Wilson of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Marie English of New Jersey; six grandchildren, Stacy Till, Mark Ealy, Kristen Lemley, Kevin and Scott MacKinney and Olivia Gray; eight great grandchildren, James, Austin and Kayla MacKinney, Colton, Tanner and Wyatt Guy, Derek Till and Grayson Wallace; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Fairmount United Methodist Church where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 with Rev. Sherry Parsons officiating and Rev. Scott Lawrence assisting. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Fairmount United Methodist Church, 120 Fairmount Church Rd., West Finley, Pa. 15377.
