Lois Maxine Reynolds

Lois Maxine Reynolds, 90, formerly of West Alexander, Pa., died early Wednesday morning, March 1, 2023, after being in failing health for the past year. 

 She was born May 5, 1932 in East Finley Twp., Washington County, a daughter of the late Carl Hird and Alva Irene Sprowls Dorsey and attended the former Rocky School in East Finley Twp. 

 Mrs. Reynolds was a former member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and was a member of the Claysville United Methodist Church at the time of her death. 

 She has been a member of the Martha Washington Quilters Guild for the past several years. 

 Mrs. Reynolds was employed by the former Big Country Ranch (4 Seasons Resort) for approximately 5 years prior to being employed by the McGuffey School District as a cafeteria worker prior to retiring. 

 She was formerly married to Blaine Sprowls who died in 1982, and on February 6, 1977 she married Ray W. Reynolds who died July 22, 1991, both husbands were World War II veterans. 

 Surviving are two sons, Robert (Debra) Sprowls of Washington and Calvin (Lisa) Sprowls of Claysville; three grandchildren, Nathan (Christy) Sprowls, Coty and Casey Sprowls; great grandson, Silas Sprowls; several nieces and nephews. 

 Deceased in addition to her parents and husbands are, two sisters, Lucille Bedillion and Hazel Lindley Hillberry; eight brothers, Gaylord, Leo, Ralph, Floyd, Blaine, Vance and Paul Dorsey and a brother Earl Dorsey who died in infancy. 

 At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing, a public graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, March 3, 2023, in the Fairmount Cemetery, East Finley Twp., with Pastor Carl Sprowls officiating.
