Lois "Kay" Roupe

Lois “Kay” Roupe (Coffman), 57, of Rogersville, died and went to her Lord on Monday, January 17, 2022, in the Washington Hospital, after a hard fought battle with COVID-19.

Kay was born on April 8, 1964, in Waynesboro, Virginia, a daughter of the late David Coffman and Lovie Coffman, of Sycamore.

A 1982 graduate of Central Greene High School, she spent all of her life in the Waynesburg area. Kay continued her education at Waynesburg University and graduated with Highest Honors in December of 1996 with an Associate’s degree in Secretarial Science. For the past 11 years she worked as a tracking center operator for Consol Energy Tracking Center.

She had the best laugh. Anyone who knew Kay was touched by her kindness, humor, and mild temperament. She loved the beaches of the Outer Banks, she was thrilled to find the perfect Christmas and birthday gifts for all her nieces and nephews every year, and she had the biggest soft spot for animals, doting on her cat Nala and dearly missed Labradors Jake and Dozer. She was truly a gentle soul and a peacemaker who loved to spread joy among her family.

In addition to her mother, Kay is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years and best friend of 41 years, George Robert “Bobby” Roupe and her close and cherished son, Dylan Robert Roupe, both of Rogersville; sisters, Denise (John) Birch of Washington, Cheryl (Eric) Dukate of Rogersville, Eleanor (Robert) Smith of Nemacolin, and her brother, Owen (Marie) Coffman of Waynesburg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored. We will all miss her more than words can express.
