Linda (Polen) Iams

May 2, 1944 — Jul 25, 2026

Waynesburg

Linda (Polen) Iams, age 82, of Waynesburg, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 25, 2026, in her home after a courageous battle with dementia.

Born May 2, 1944, daughter of the late Floyd and Lucille (Turner) Polen.

Linda had been a resident of the Jacktown, Greene County area all her life. She graduated from West Greene High School in 1962. Linda attended the Bates Fork Baptist Church in Sycamore, where she led bible study and sang so loudly all could hear. She spent her early years being a homemaker, caring for many children. Linda was the local Avon Lady. Linda was a faithful woman of God, who loved reading her bible and her daily devotionals. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

We find peace and comfort knowing she is finally “home” and with her loving husband, who she had missed for a very long time and all her other loved ones that have passed before her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers Gaile, Mary, and Nancy for the exceptional love, kindness, and care they provided. They would also like to acknowledge Concordia Hospice for the support they provided in the last few weeks at home.

She is survived by two children, Craig (Sandy) Iams, of Waynesburg and Amy (Roger) Jaggie, of Mt. Morris; beloved grandchildren, Myriah (Matthew), McKenzie (Levi), Dalton, and Cody; three great grandchildren, Maddox, Mia, and Hattie, whom she enjoyed spending time with; a very special family friend, Melinda Dille (Brian) Roberts, of Ligonier; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all eight of her siblings, making her the last of her immediate family. Linda was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, who passed in infancy.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 4-8 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Cristy Wise, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
