Kenneth Ray Cox, age 78, of Waynesburg, formerly of Garards Fort, passed away, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Washington Hospital.
Born June 23, 1945, in Jefferson, son of the late Harry Nathaniel and Cora Pearl (Helmick) Cox.
Kenneth was a Greene County resident most of his life. He was formerly employed at the Greene County Jail as a Corrections Officer, Insul Co. in E. Palestine, OH, Holbert Arrison Lumber Yard in Mt. Morris, Russell Headlee Lumber Co., South Bend Papermill, and lastly at Waynesburg College as a Security officer for eight years until his retirement in 1991. Kenneth served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, puzzles, and small engine repair.
He is survived by two children, Tina (Thomas) Sapp, of Kirby and Timothy (Bambi) Cox, of Morgantown, WV.; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four siblings, Ellis Cox, Kathryn Temple, Sandy Groves, and Bonnie Hagyari.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twelve siblings, Raymond, Bill, Robert, Ronald, Harry, Richard and Dennis Cox, Edith Nye, Juanita Barnhart, Shirley Keller, Jean Dubinsky, and Judy Clark.
