JOHN A. SIXOWNER/OPERATOR OF SIX AUTO SALES John A. Six, 79, of Claysville, Pa. died at 10:25 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2008. He was born December 31, 1928 in Washington, Pa a son of Edwin R. and Loretta Grandstaff Six and had resided in the Taylorstown and Claysville areas all his life. Mr. Six was a member and former trustee of the First Baptist Church in Claysville and was a 1946 graduate of Claysville High School. He was formerly employed as a master mechanic by the Wilkie Construction Company of Claysville and for over 50 years was the owner and operator of the former Six Body Shop and later the Six Auto Sales in Claysville prior to retiring in 1984. Mr. Six was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed the time he spent driving in local stock car and drag races. On September 20, 1948 he married Opal Deane Clutter who died September 21, 1994. Surviving are a daughter, Kathy, wife of Mike Makripodis of Washington; two sons, J. Gary, husband of Missy Six and W. Douglas, husband of Margie Six of Claysville; seven grandchildren, Tracey MacCartney Jacob, Kyle and Ryan MacCartney, Dr. John Six, Daesha Six Hensler, Matthew and Nathaniel Six; five great grandchildren, Madison and Caden Hensler, Mackenzie and Zachary Jacob, Donovan MacCartney; one sister, Jane, wife of Dale Lyle of Taylorstown; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents is a brother, Edwin R. Six. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 or the First Baptist Church, 317 Main St., PO Box 26, Claysville, Pa. 15323.
