Janet May Horn

Janet May Horn, age 86, of New Castle, formerly of Aleppo, passed away, Thursday, December 19, 2024, in her home with her family by her side. 

Born August 10, 1938, in Jonesboro, IN., daughter of the late Claude Carlos and Beulah May (West) Reynolds. 

Janet had been a resident of Greene County since August of 1971 after moving from New Castle but recently moved back to New Castle to be close to her family. She graduated from Mississinewa High School in Gas City, IN in 1956, then in 1992 she graduated from Jameson School of Nursing in New Castle. 

Janet was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Holbrook. 

She married Ronnie Horn on October 19,1957 and they were happily married for 45 years until his passing on October 5, 2002. Janet was employed with Cameron Continuous Care as an RN for five years until her retirement in 2000. She was also formerly employed with Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Janet enjoyed traveling, cards, puzzles and going to challenges with her best friend and caregiver Tia (Dorothea) Pander. 

Her family wants everyone to know she was a wonderful Mom, grandmother and friend who touched many lives. 

She is survived by 7 children, Terry and Bret Horn, both of Aleppo, Ronald (Patricia) Horn, of Hendersonville, NC, Brian Horn, of Aleppo, Janell (Sam) Nero, Shannon Horn, and Colleen (James) Rossi, all of New Castle. 

She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and 18 siblings with Judy Reynolds Bainbridge surviving. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Basil Horn, and 16 siblings. 

Friends and family will be received on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 11-1 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499- 5181, where a funeral service will be held directly after with Rev. Vernon K. Berdine, officiating. Burial will follow at Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo.
