Jan Elise Irvin, 65, of Waynesburg, PA, formerly of Rogersville, PA, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Rolling Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation, Waynesburg, PA of a cancer related illness.
She was born April 9, 1952 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Calvin “Denny” Irvin and Jane E. McNeely Irvin Hull and had resided in Rogersville most of her life prior to moving to Waynesburg.
Miss Irvin was a 1970 graduate of West Greene High School and attended Hood College, Frederick, MD and Waynesburg College.
She was a member of Rogersville United Methodist Church where she formerly served as Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher.
Miss Irvin was also a member of PA Holmes Mine Rescue Association (state and local Chapters), PA Mine Rescue Association (state and local chapters), and was instrumental and actively involved in Mine Rescue Competitions.
Enjoyed bowling, golf, and casino visits and was an avid reader.
Employed by MSHA for 44 years prior to retiring in 2016.
Surviving are; a brother, Dr. C. Michael (Dr. Paula Raugellis) Irvin; two nephews, C. Michael Irvin II, and Chase Irvin, all of Waynesburg, PA; step-father, Melvin Hull, of Rogersville, PA.
Deceased are her maternal grandparents, Charles (Luie) McNeely and Aldine Knight McNeely; paternal grandparents, Charles Hunter and Gertrude Ann Robinson Irvin.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or funeral service. All services will be held at the convenience of the family.
