James L. Bradley, Jr., 59, of Holbrook, Pa. died at 8:49 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 in The Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born April 12, 1955 in Rochester, N.Y. a son of the late James Lewis Bradley, Sr. and Mary Jane Purtell Bradley.
Mr. Bradley had resided in the New Freeport area for several years prior to moving to Jackson Twp. in 1992.
He was a 1973 graduate of West Greene High School and a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as an E-4 with Co E, 7th Eng Bn, 5th Inf Div.
Mr. Bradley enjoyed hunting, fishing and working his farm as long as his health permitted.
He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver for over 25 years with Omni Trucking of Morristown, Pa., and was last employed as a truck driver by the former Randy Main Construction Company of Holbrook, Pa. prior to retiring in 2010.
Surviving are his companion of the past 23 years, Lois Sue Severance Kirby; a brother, Kenneth, husband of Betty Bradley of New Freeport; two sisters, Susie Sasso of New York and Sharon Sparks of W. Va.; four nieces and one nephew.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 with Rev. William Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery, Jackson Twp.
