James "Jim Bob" Douglas Carter

James “Jim Bob” Douglas Carter, age 62, of Cameron, WV., passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.

Born May 30, 1958, in Waynesburg, son of the late Donald Eugene Carter and Juanita Carol (Tustin) Abercombie.

Jim Bob graduated from West Greene High School in 1976. He married Darla Ealy on May 19, 1978 and they were happily married for 42 years. Jim Bob was a member of Greene County Pool League for the Waynesburg Moose Lodge for many years. He played on the softball team “Just Us” when he was younger. Jim Bob received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Airforce in 1977. In 2014 Jim Bob became the Co-Owner of Jim and Darla's Rock Tavern. He was employed with Columbia Gas as a Transmission Mechanic for 22 years until he retired in 2018. Jim Bob loved to play the guitar and golf. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Tanya Dee (Ted) Bowser, of Aleppo; three grandchildren, Carter, Essence and Vanessa Bowser, all still at home; one brother, Greg Carter, of Martins Ferry, OH; two sisters, Pam Blaker, of Carmichaels and Melissa Black, of Holbrook; in addition to aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At the request of Jim Bob there will be no funeral service and a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
