Homer Stanley Mounts

Homer Stanley Mounts, 72, of Washington, Pa. died unexpectedly at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in his home.
He was born February 1, 1943 in Washington a son of Artie Jane Davis Mounts of Washington and the late Homer Hamilton Mounts, and had resided in Claysville, Pa. prior to moving to South Franklin Twp. in 1970.
Mr. Mounts was a member of the East Buffalo Presbyterian Church where he was currently serving as clerk of sessions, a ruling elder and a member of the church choir. He had served on several Presbyterian committees and was appointed as the elder commissioner to the last General Assembly.
He was a 1961 graduate of McGuffey High School and a 1964 graduate of the former Gateway Technical Institute.
Mr. Mounts had formerly served as president of the South Franklin Baseball Association and was a faithful member of the McDonalds (West Chestnut St.) Breakfast Club.
He had been involved in the dry cleaning industry since 1965, and for the past 26 years was the owner and operator of Mounts Dry Cleaning Equipment. He and his wife operated the former Speedy Clean Laundry and Dry Cleaners at Lincoln Hill for 30 years prior to selling in 2006.
On February 14, 1964 he married Beverly Jean Nelson who survives.
Also surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son, Eric B. Mounts; two daughters, Heather Hertig, companion of Larry Haney, and Shelly, wife of Dr. Leigh Nadler all of Washington; five grandchildren, James, Joshua and Molly Helbley, Michael and Maura Hertig; a brother, Roger, husband of Joyce Mounts of Aurora, Co.; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in the East Buffalo Presbyterian Church, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 with Rev. Linda Mankey officiating and Rev. Dr. Terry Johnson assisting. Interment will follow in Claysville Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the East Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 180 East Buffalo Church Rd., Washington, Pa. 15301.
