Helen W. Frye

Helen W. Frye, age 102, of Holbrook, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 5, 2017 while under the care of Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation, Waynesburg, PA.

Born February 2, 1915, in West Finely, PA, Rich Hill Township she is the daughter of the late Herbert and Ada P. (Murphy) Barnhart.

Helen was married to her late husband Harold Frye, for over 70 years. Her joy in life was raising her three sons and helping raise 3 of her grandchildren. She lovingly known as “Grandma” by everyone in her family. Helen was a devoted member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church for over 65 years where she was the pianist and choir director.

Surviving are her son, Glenn Frye, of Deep Valley, PA; five grandchildren, Clifford Frye, Donnie Frye, Tim (Michele) Frye, David (Andrea) Frye, Chris (Danielle) Frye; as well as 14 great-grand children Mercedes, Andrew, Zachary, Allen, Jacob, Amanda, Donny, Anthony Joseph, Abigail, Mackenzie, Jonathan, Jadon, Jocelyn, and Joseph.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Frye and David Frye; four sisters, Mary, Josephine, Leola and Sarah.

Friends will be received on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359. (724) 499-5181 A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, 2327 Golden Oaks Rd. Holbrook, PA 15341. Burial will follow at Valley Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, 2327 Golden Oaks Rd. Holbrook, PA 15341.
