Even though the family was not well to do, her mother found the means to get her tap dance lessons and performed around the state. Josephine Hart, her best friend and former classmate, her beloved sister, Ruby, and friend John whom she talked to often and enjoyed having coffee with. Helen was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Waynesburg, PA, where she helped organize Bible Studies. Helen enjoyed her word searches.
