Hal Duane Riffle, age 91, formerly of Aleppo, PA., passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice, Bonita Springs, FL.
Born January 15, 1927 in Aleppo, PA., he was the son of the late Perry and Margaret (Ullom) Riffle.
Hal was a 1944 graduate of Aleppo High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 for 30 years until he retired in 1988. Hal was a member of Gospel Baptist Church, where he liked to help, he would drive the bus to pick up church members and bring them to church.
Surviving are, his wife, Beverly Jean Powell, of Michigan; one son, Carl (Charlene) Riffle, of NorthHampton, PA; four step-sons, Mike Powell, of Michigan, Clifford Powell, Matt Powell and Brad Powell; one grandson, Brian Scott (Virginia) Riffle, of Ivor, VA; one great-grandson, Zachary Scott Riffle, of Leola, PA; two brothers, David (Susan) Riffle, of Punxsutawney, PA and Donald (Bonnie) Riffle, of Aleppo, PA.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two wives, Bernice M. Riffle and Madeline Bertha (Moose) Riffle; one brother, Bobby Riffle.
Friends will be received Friday, May 4, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181, following a 1:00 P.M. funeral service with Pastor Lanny Hewitt, officiating. Burial will follow at Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo, PA.
