Biography
Grace T. Wise, 89, of New Freeport (Jollytown), Pa. died at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past three and one-half years. She was born November 17, 1924 in Gilmore Twp., Greene County, Pa. a daughter of the late Harry Jackson and Ida Jeanette Jones Taylor and had resided in the Gilmore Twp. area most of her life. Mrs. Wise was a member, Sunday school teacher and choir leader at the former Bethel Community Church. She attended the former Waynesburg High School, and enjoyed playing domino's and watching tennis matches on television. On August 27, 1944 she married Arthur Calvin Wise who died June 26, 1977. Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie, wife of Leon Shough of Jollytown and Connie Tyler of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Gary A. Wise and Larry A., husband of Sherry Wise both of Jollytown; eight grandchildren, David and Kara Tyler, Krysti Shough Gunter, Kelly Shough Gillespie and Scott Shough; Joni Wise Beazell, Nick and Joshua Wise; several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Harry (Cracker) Taylor of Jollytown; a sister, Leona Tennant of Pine Bank; several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a daughter, Linda Shough; five sisters, Marjorie Kelly, Fern Thomas, Louise Carter, Gayle Hennen and Imogene Phillips; a brother, Charles Taylor. At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at 3: p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2014 in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. with Rev. Samuel K. Hibbs, Jr. officiating and Rev. Michael Phillips assisting. Private interment will be held in the Eakin Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
