Gertrude A. Archer, 80, of Pittsburgh, Pa. and formerly of West Alexander and Claysville, Pa. died at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in the Transitions Healthcare, Autumn Grove Nursing and Rehab Center in Harrisville, Pa. after being in failing health for the past several years.She was born February 5, 1933 in Wheeling, W.Va. a daughter of the late Wishart and Lucy Geho Supler and had resided in Dallas, W.Va., Claysville, West Alexander and West Finley Twp. prior to moving to Pittsburgh in 2006.Mrs. Archer was a member of the Roney's Point Presbyterian Church at Triadelphia, W.VA. and the Dallas Presbyterian Church, Dallas, W.Va.She was a graduate of the former Triadelphia (W.Va.) High School.Mrs. Archer was last employed in the housekeeping department of the former Quality Inn at Dallas Pike, W.Va. prior to retiring in 2004.She enjoyed baking and socializing with her many friends and neighbors as long as her health permitted.On September 29, 1962 she married Robert Wayne Archer who died December 27, 2003.Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca (Becky), wife of Aymen Alsalehi of Pittsburgh (Franklin Park); a grandson, Matthew D. Alsalehi; two sisters, Dorothy Kerekes of Canonsburg and Shirley Archer of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Edward, husband of Ann Supler of Dallas, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a sister, Eleanor Smilia; a brother, Galen Supler.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer Disease Research Center, Attn.: Leslie Dunn, MPH, ADRC Administrator, University of Pittsburgh, UPMC Montefiore, Four West, 200 Lothrop St., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15213-2582
