George "Bill" Miller

George “Bill” Miller, age 91, of Jollytown, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, in his home surrounded by his family the last few days here on earth, after losing his battle to cancer. He was strong and fought a great fight.

Born August 16, 1934, son of the late George Ewing and Mamie (Barnhart) Miller.

Bill was a Marine Corporal and fought in the Korean War. He worked his entire life. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family. Most of all, Bill enjoyed working on or fixing things for friends or family, some folks called him MacGyver. He loved being outdoors, hunting, traveling out West, seeing his buddies, buying knives or tools, which he took great pride in his collection, and fishing with his great grandchildren. Bill rarely missed a flea market.

Over the years, he belonged to the West Greene American Legion Post 0416 and worked with Toys for Tots.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Linda Miller, of 65 years; two children, Becky (Steve) Hinerman, of Blacksville, WV. and Mark Miller, of Jollytown; sister, Hester Cain; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren that he was blessed with; and his cat, sis, who he adored and loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Perry Miller.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 2-8 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Judy, officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Greene County Honor Guard. At the request of the family, burial will be private at Eakin Cemetery.
