Frances L. Mayhle, 83, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Ackley Creek (Richhill Twp.) died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 in WVU Hospitals, Inc. (Ruby Memorial), Morgantown, W.Va. She had been in poor health but her death was unexpected.She was born August 19, 1927 in West Finley Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of the late James Francis and Flora Marie Whiteman Amos.Mrs. Mayhle had resided in the Richhill Twp. area from 1970 until moving to Waynesburg in 1992, and was a 1946 graduate of Richhill Twp. High School, and attended Waynesburg (College) University.She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg and was a member of the senior citizens group of the church, and was a former member of the former Harvey's Grange.Mrs. Mayhle was employed by the former Hillsview Sanatorium in Washington, Pa., the former Greene County Memorial Hospital in Waynesburg as a nurse's aide, the J.M. Fields Dept. Store in Jersey City, N.J., and the Bayonne Hospital in Bayonne, N.J.On January 25, 1947 she married Ira Finley Mayhle who died July 24, 2008.Surviving are four daughters, Viola, wife of Don Shumaker and Ruth Ann, wife of Richard Hegel both of Jersey City, N.J., Gloria D. Fritchman of Pittsburgh and Patricia, wife of Dwight Purdy of Marion, IN.; two sons, James, husband of Darla Mayhle of Motsville, N.C. and Jerry L. Mayhle of Washington; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one brother, Terry Lee Amos of Houston, Pa.; two sisters, Elaine Davis of Waynesburg and Madalyn Clutter of West Finley.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are three brothers, Charles G., Cleo J. and Vernard Amos.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 115 Deerfield Lane, Waynesburg, Pa. 115370.
