Eugene Leon Metz

Eugene Leon Metz, age 50, of Spraggs, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh, PA.

Born on August 19, 1965 in Danbury, CT, he is the son of Leonard "Pete" and Judy Layne (Williams) Metz, both surviving.

Eugene was always in high spirits and always on the go. He enjoyed telling jokes and would have given the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it. He loved music; some of his favorite rock bands to listen to were Aerosmith and Def Leppard. His Shih Tzu Katie was his faithful companion. Eugene rode dirt bikes and worked on lawnmowers for fun. He was a past member of the Mt. Morris Sportsman’s Club. Eugene’s vibrant and fun personality will be dearly missed.

Loving Father of, Helen Jean Metz, OH, and Timothy L. Metz, Spraggs, PA; Dear Brother of Peggy Cumberledge, Spraggs, PA, and Billy W. (Melissa) Metz, Hundred, WV; Uncle of Cassie Metz, Jessica Lynn Eddy, Joshua Kent Eddy and T.J. Braddock.

He was preceded in death by his sister Susan Layne Barr, who passed away January 28, 2006. Friends and family are welcome on Sunday, July 10, 2016 from 1-5 P.M. at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, Rogersville, PA. with a Funeral Service to follow at 5:00 P.M. with Rev. Steve Stevens, officiating.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Yost Cemetery, Earnshaw, W.V. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eugene’s memory to the family.
