Edna Lucille Tharp

Edna Lucille Tharp, age 101, of Waynesburg, passed away, Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at WeCare at Rolling Meadows.

Born February 24, 1924, in Brave, daughter of the late Lloyd Lee and Opal Maude (Edgar) Conaway Parshall.

Edna had been a resident of Waynesburg since 1999 when she moved from Salem, OH after 32 years. She was a member of the Real-Life Assembly of God in Salem then after moving to Waynesburg became a member of the Rolling Meadows Church of God. Edna married Kenneth Walter Tharp on February 6, 1942, and they were happily married for 63 years until his passing on February 16, 2005. She was a member of the Waynesburg Senior Citizens. Edna enjoyed reading and sewing.

She is survived by five children, Stephen (Kim) Tharp, of Pulaski, OH, Joan (Gary) Brown, of Salem, OH, Loretta Wyatt, of Valley City, OH, Wanda Tharp, of Waynesburg, and Glenda Whitacre, of Washington; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth “Beth” (Bruce) Kline, of Elkton, MD, Tracy (James) Ketchum, of Pine Bank, Rebecca Phillips, of Waynesburg, Gregory (Tess) Brown, of Medina, OH, Sharla (Katie) Brown, of Georgia, David (Rajka) Wyatt, of Medina, OH, Shane (Cassie) Wyatt, of Hubbard, OH, and Jonathan Whitacre, of Washington; 20 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and granddaughter-in-law, Vicki Scott, of Uniontown.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Phillips and grandson, Kendall Scott.

Edna was the last of her immediate family.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 5-7 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181, where a funeral service will be held directly after with Pastor Richard Berkey, officiating.
