Donald E. Main, 75, of Center Twp. Greene Co. Pa. died unexpectedly at 10:18 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2007 in the Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born August 14, 1932 in Pine Bank, Pa. a son of Arthur R. Main, Sr. and Toilie Frances Moniger Main and had resided in the New Freeport area prior to moving to Center Twp. (Rutan) in 1957 and has resided in the Rogersville area since 1961. Mr. Main was an active member of the Rogersville United Methodist Church where he has served as a trustee for the past several years and will be truly missed by the entire community. He was a former employee of Jack Williams Construction, Nelson Contracting of West Alexander and Penn D.O.T. prior to being employed as a Center Twp. Supervisor for 20 years prior to retiring in 1989. Mr. Main was a veteran of the Korean War where he served with the US Army as a corporal with Hq Hq Btry959th FD ARTY BN and received the Good Conduct, National Service Defense, United Nations Service and the Korean Service Medals. On November 26, 1951 he married Donna Lee (Peg) Ensminger who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Donald E. Main, Jr., husband of Nancy Main and William, husband of Bobbi Main of Rogersville; two daughters, Sherry, wife of Larry Wise of Jollytown and Sheila, wife of Jeffrey Stover of Rogersville; one brother, Clyde D., husband of Ruby Main of Rogersville; nine grandchildren, Billie Jo Barnhart, Donald J. (D.J.), Dillon and Shaun Main; Joni Beazell, Nick and Josh Wise, Morgan and Linzee Stover; three great grandchildren, Brady and Josie Barnhart, Emmaline Beazell; four step grandchildren, Ashleigh Brumley, Tommy, Timmy and Allie Burkholder; several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a daughter, Kathryn Ruth Main who died in infancy; five brothers, H. Everette, Kenneth R., Joseph M., Charles Dean and Arthur R. Main, Jr.; one sister, Katherine Hennen. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc., Rogersville, Pa. where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 with Rev. William Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery, Jackson Twp. Graveside military rites will be accorded by representatives of the U. S. Army, the American Legion Post 330, V.F.W. Post 4793 and D.A.V. Post 123 all of Waynesburg, Pa. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rogersville U.M.
